Highland DPC is proud to offer our medical weight loss program to our members which may include the use of prescription medications. We have relationships with multiple pharmacies who we coordinate with for compounded Semaglutide, compounded Tirzepatide and other name brand or generic medications.

$50 + medication
Initial consultation fee of $100 due at first visit. Prescriptions can be sent to a pharmacy of your choice or ordered directly from our preferred compounding pharmacy.

How do I take these medications?
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide (GLP-1) - are both a once weekly subcutaneous injection given for long-term weight management and obesity. Phentermine/Topiramate - An oral medication for weight loss with those patient who do not have cardiovascular disease and cannot tolerate the GLP-1 class of medication. *Only one of these medications can be used at one time*
How much does the medication cost?
The cost of medication is determined by multiple factors including the type of medication, the pharmacy and the prescribed dosing schedule for each patient. We do not apply a markup to medications purchased through our pharmacy, thus the cost of medication will be determined by the actual cost of the medication plus shipping. The cost of medication is due at the time of ordering. Prescriptions for other brand-name medications can be sent to a pharmacy of your choice. If you have commercial insurance with coverage for weight loss medication, this may be an option for you.
How long does a vial of medication last?
The medication is started at a low dose and increased every 4 weeks based on patient tolerance. The first vial will last a minimum of 12 weeks, subsequent vials will depend on the dosage of medication prescribed. At the highest dose, one vial will last approximately 5 weeks.
What are some of the side effects?
Prescription compounded Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are both safe under medical supervision and we see far fewer side effects compared to other medications. Commonly reported side effects nausea, constipation, and diarrhea. In addition to standard titration, we will discuss other tips to avoid side effects in depth.
How long until I see results?
Some patients see/feel results shortly after starting the medication. However, every patient is different and each patient’s optimized dose will be different. An average weight loss of 0.5-1 pounds per week is considered a success!
How can I maximize my weight loss?
We recommend increasing your water intake (80-100 oz.), adding in an electrolyte beverage daily, and ensure that you are getting adequate protein in your diet. Routine exercise is also recommended.
What if I’m not losing weight?
It is not uncommon to stall or feel like you’re not losing. If you’re experiencing this, please reach out to your provider as we have numerous tips/tricks and options to help you reach your goals!
